THETour: Why?

Updated: Jul 29, 2019

Welcome back everyone!

I just got back last night from a fishing trip with my family- much needed! There is something so relaxing about going to a secluded campground (I'm talking no cell reception, no WIFI, and about an hour to 2 hour drive on a gravel road into the bush) and just enjoying nature! Plus we always stay in a cabin that has a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and a working bathroom so that helps. There was one day where we were outside from about 9am-9pm. Not even kidding. I can't remember the last time I spent the whole day outside; we sat outside for breakfast for a few hours, went out onto the lake fishing for 7 hours (yes you heard that right), and then ate our supper outside for a few hours when we got back.

I love nature! I'm not out like hiking every weekend, but I love and appreciate nature so when I get the chance to enjoy the outdoors I like to take advantage of it so here's a beautiful picture from our last night out on the lake! The water was so calm compared to the windy day, and it looked just like water.

But anyways! Enough about my weekend, we are here to talk about THETour. If you didn't already know, we have a radio show we put out every Monday afternoon, which you can see and click the link on our facebook pages, Coffee with J or Event-Full Elements, so make sure to check it out! This week we talked about THETour: the reason behind it, our biggest why, and what essentially we want to accomplish with it.

THETour was originally inspired by our owner's late father, Raymond Weiss. He was a man with a passion for helping people, especially people who were going through adversity or more specifically, veterans who have retired and don't have the means to help themselves day to day. He was diagnosed with 'Progressive Systemic Scleroderma', but even with his illness he never asked for help, but instead continued to work and help others literally until he couldn't any longer. He was a volunteer emergency responder and so he was always one of the first people on the scene of an accident, there to do whatever he could.

The one main thing he wanted to do was create a charity, and a 90 day program for people who were going through and coming out of hardships and adversity, and need help getting their feet under them again; and even though he was never able to do it, we are here to make that vision possible. We want THETour to be a community that is safe, loving, accepting, and helpful, for everyone from infants to seniors, to come and get the help they need. We have all been through adversity, big or small, and so we all need to be there to help one another; we are all on this planet together, and even though we have our own lives to take care of, we need to create and help build our community.

Along with the program, we will have events throughout Canada. 'Be Your Own Hero' is meant to inspire, and bring out your inner fire and your inner hero so that with the help of a community, you can learn how to navigate going through life's ups and downs.

We have a TON of what we want to do for the community and the people in it, wherever they are, and so go on over to www.thetourjourney.com to see everything we have in store for you later.

Everyone has 'The Hero Within'. You can 'Be Your Own Hero'. All that you need to realize is that you have that hero and that it's time to unleash it. SO, make sure to stay tuned for when we do our big launch!

We cannot wait to share with you all what we have been working on for so long, but until then we will see you here next week for our blog on Upcoming in YYC: August edition!

Have a great week everyone!

Xoxo,

Callista
